The CDC recommends using alcohol solutions of at least 70% alcohol is the most effective. Not only is alcohol effective against Covid-19, but it's car friendly. Just keep it away from the leather upholstery. Most leather has a protective layer, but if you don't know the specifications, you are much better off to be safe than sorry.

Just Soap and Water

Another effective option which is effective on most surfaces, including your leather seats, is a basic solution of water and soap. Just be sure not to scrub too fervently, or get the fabrics too wet.

Microfiber Towels or 100% Cotton Cloth

In general, old cotton t-shirts and/or microfiber towels are a great solution that can be used almost anywhere.

Regarding Leather Seats and Surfaces

Although we've mentioned leather several times above, it's worth repeating again. Avoid hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, bleach, and ammonia-based cleaners. Leather disinfecting wipes are best, but a damp cloth with soap and water will likely do the trick.

Certainly, the most effective solution to stop the spread of Covid-19 is to stay home and not share a vehicle.
